Ante la atención que envuelve el arte en contexto, este artículo explora cómo las voces poéticas de los habitantes de la ciudad, foco de impacto de las arduas políticas de la crisis de 2008 en España, toman los espacios afectados y los convierten en reductos de resistencia. La definición de las distintas zonas y los espacios intersticiales opera una dialéctica fundamental en ese proceso que concentra su conmoción sobre los cuerpos. La “(re)construcción” de la ciudad experimenta cambios al albergar otras sonoridades, ya no de ruinas sino de “los restos”. Tema dell’articolo è il lessico nella poesia di Milo De Angelis analizzato attraverso i temi fondanti della poetica: adolescenza, ritorno, topos. Al centro dell’universo lessicale viene collocato e discusso anche quel particolare stato di tensione che percorre i testi del poeta e che li caratterizza in maniera distintiva. Dotato di persistenza e privo di accidentalità, esso si manifesta in addensamenti polarizzati, giungendo a coinvolgere anche la diade finitudine vs indefinitezza. “Never Some Easy Flashback”

Abstract This paper provides a close reading of Paul Farley’s 160-line poem, “Thorns.” The poem is read in dialogue with William Wordsworth’s celebrated Romantic ballad “The Thorn.” Special attention is given to Farley’s treatment of memory and metaphor: It is shown how the first, exploratory part of the poem elaborates upon the interdependent nature of memory and metaphor, while the second part uses a more regulated form of imagery in its evocation of a generational memory linked to a particular place and time (the working-class Liverpool of the 1960s and 1970s). Reina María Rodríguez: A Poetic of the Limits to Cuba

in this article we intend to approach some of the major controversies that have affected the poetry written in Cuba in recent decades: the reflection on the relationship of poetic language with reality; the writing of the limits, the remains —that what ideology hides—; the crossing of different genres and artistic languages —poetry, fiction, image—, etc. To do this, we analyze two books published by the Cuban poet Reina Maria Rodríguez: Travelling (1995) and Variedades de Galiano (2008). And their relationship to the American “Language Poets”.

Not only is translation of poetry an effective method of teaching poerty in a proper historical context, but also it enhances students acquisition of knowledge about realities of life in foreign countries and different cultures, not to mention the fact that it improves their linguistic competences in both the source and the target languages. What is important, translation is a holistic method, forcing students to think independently.
